The property is owned and managed by Vanessa J Hawkins (right) who has bred, trained and ridden horses all her life. Her involvement in the racing industry includes working for Robert Crabtree at Dorrington Park (now Eliza Park) as well as David Moodie and Peter Morgan at Craiglea Stud.
Vanessa who is a registered nurse, also graduated from the VCAH Glenorminston Horse Breeding Management course as Dux in 1987.
She owned and raced her own horse called Irish Aussie (by Paddy Me) in 1978 as well as prepared yearlings by Capital Asset bred by her mother and grandmother.
Vanessa has been actively involved in all aspects of the Australian Horse Industry as publisher of the 1996/97 A-Z Horse Industry Directory; Event Director of the 1999 Equitana Asia Pacific; and a Director of the Australian Horse Industry Council.
